Many people feel that the world of martial arts is something that’s far out of reach for them. They have all sorts of excuses – they’re too old for it, they’re too young for it, they are not fit enough, they are scared from violence – you name it. Well, we’re here to tell you that in fact no matter who you are, you will be able to train martial arts and that the excuses that you make are all only in your head.
Namely, we’ll take a case in point, with Muay Thai training. If you know anything about martial arts at all, then you know about Muay Thai, as it’s one of the most popular, most effective methods of self-defense that you can learn. It comes from the country of Thailand, in Southeastern Asia.
No matter who you are, you can begin to take Muay Thai classes. This, of course, goes also for girls. That’s right, if you’re a girl and you wish to train martial arts, then there is no reason for you to be afraid of them or ashamed of your passions. You can train your butt off if you wanted to.
But we still realize that many of you, girls, in particular, might be afraid and apprehensive of the experience that awaits you. After all, Muay Thai incorporates violence – this is the essence of martial arts. While this is true, you still have no reason at all to be worried that you might get injured during the training sessions. Of course, in order to train Muay Thai, you will have to exert yourself, and physical effort by definition increases the chances of injury, so injuries do happen to Muay Thai trainees. But you won’t have to be worried about the violent part of Muay Thai at all because this is a controlled environment. You will get to practice strikes and kicks, and you will get to defend them. But in no way will you be put in danger of being hurt. Of course, this is the modus operandi of most Muay Thai schools, and there may be a few renegade schools out there that really go over the top.
But 99% of the time, you will do well to be worry free and to go and train Muay Thai, no matter who you are.
